Tax return for foreign nationals

Tourists that purchase goods in Croatia (except for petrol and oil based products) with a value that exceeds 500 kunas on one invoice, are entitled to ask for a refund of the Value Added Tax (PDV). During the purchase, the seller will ensure that the buyer is given a PDV-P form, which must be filled in and stamped with a seal on the spot. On exit from the country, it is necessary to further notarise the invoice with the customs. The VAT return in Kunas can be handed out within six months in the same store where the goods were purchased (in that case, the return is immediate) or by mailing the correctly stamped invoice to the shop along with a bank account number into which the return is to be paid. In this case, the return is performed within 15 days of invoice receipt.
